Camerata Navarra
Based in Zizur Mayor (Navarra), Camerata Navarra is made up of a group of musicians with extensive professional experience, both instrumental and didactic.
They are motivated by the desire to explore the widest repertoire for chamber orchestra, with the aim of approaching the public in a direct and close way, making them appreciate the charm and magic of this type of musical formation.
Camerata Navarra arises from the core of the Ensemble la Cuerda de Oro, which has had its own artistic trajectory since 2014, with concerts and recordings. Gradually, this original formation has been expanded to a small orchestra with a conductor.
In parallel to the more popular repertoire, Camerata Navarra dedicates part of its time to research and dissemination of unpublished or lesser-known works, with special attention to composers from Navarra.
Gian Luca Mangiarotti
Artistic and musical director
A native of Italy, since 2003 he has been a double bass player with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra.
In parallel to his career as an instrumentalist, he received his first lessons in conducting and piano in Italy under the supervision of Arturo Sacchetti, and began to conduct various musical groups.
He has also developed in the fields of analysis, harmony, and counterpoint with Jesús Echevarría.
Over the years, under the tutelage of Mtro. Marco Guidarini, he has tackled all aspects of orchestral conducting, taking part in courses and masterclasses such as: "Laboratorio Lirico Spazio Musica" in Orvieto (Italy); "Vincenzo Bellini Belcanto Academy" in Vendôme (France); "Conducting Meetings" in Genoa (Italy), becoming an assistant in a production of "La Traviata" at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa (Italy), thus broadening his experience in the operatic field.
In 2022, he has been selected to participate in the "Plovdiv Masterclass" with Maestro Uros Lajovic and the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), and in the conducting course with Maestro Fabrizio Dorsi and the Pugliese Philharmonic Orchestra (Italy).
He is currently furthering his training at the International Academy of Orchestra Conducting "José Collado", with Mtro. Cristóbal Soler.
He is the founder of the chamber orchestra "Camerata Navarra", with which he is carrying out several artistic projects.
